As a full-service Metro Detroit portrait photographer, here at Kidlette we believe whole-heartedly both in the value of family photography and in the power of print. In fact, offering printed photographs is our main “raison d’etre”. Why are we so passionate about print? Many reasons, and here’s just a few. Digital technology is not fail-safe...
I have so many old albums full of prints. Then once the cameras on phones got so good I stopped printing as many. I miss real pictures to look at and plan to start printing more
That’s an excellent plan, Sabina! We fully encourage that. 🙂
I am guilty for not printing out more photos. I miss the old days of photo albums! I really need to do this.
Yes, Marysa! Get on that!! The days of photo albums can still be here. 😉
I always get physical prints and photos, because I like being able to place them around the house so the children can see and interact with those memories. It’s so tempting to just leave them on your phone, but it makes way more sense to have at least some physical prints!
Love it, Jupiter!
I absolutely love printed photos. This is a reminder for me there’s a few I need to hang.
Yes, framed & hung. One of our favorites!! 😉
This is so necessary. I love looking at photos and printing them and adding it to a frame makes them that much more special
We’re totally with you on that, Windy!
I definitely miss the days of prints…now everything is digital and on our devices but there is someting wonderful about photo albums!
I know what you mean, but the days of print are still here, Catherine! It’s just one small extra step, and so worth it. 😉
Oh my goodness, I keep telling my kids they should be saving real photos. They fill their phones and delete or the phone breaks and they lose everything and say they’re heartbroken, but they just won’t print. I print what they send me to see for them. I believe they’ll appreciate it some day.
I’m sure they will, Rosey!! 🙂
I Love this blog post so mUch. I wish people would see the longterm value in tangIble PHOTOGRAPHY versus Focusing so much on wAnting digital copies instead. designing albums for my clients happens to be one of my FAVORITE part of being a photographer.
Thanks, Stephanie.Think it’s up to us as full-service photographers to lead the way. We love supplying a digital with each print. Best of both worlds!!
Agh. This article is everything I believe in. I adore having printed photos hung in my house. I can see them everyday without having to look for them on purpose. They become a part of my life and have such meaning to me.
Yes!! Exactly, Rebecca! So glad to hear you’re a believer. 😉
